Dr. Steven Scates received his Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology at University of California, Davis. He then received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. His Internship, Residency, and Fellowship were all completed at UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Scates is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology. After initially serving as Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at UCLA, Dr. Scates moved to Northern California to establish his private practice in Morgan Hill. While on staff at Saint Louise Regional Hospital, Dr. Scates served as the Chairman of Medicine, Chief of Credentials, Chief of Staff, Director of the ICU, Director of Respiratory Therapy, Head of the Critical Care Committee, and Chairman of the Bioethics Committee. In 2001, he merged his practice with Southbay Oncology Hematology Partners.
Dr. Scates is married, has two children, and enjoys photography, weight lifting, fly fishing, and studying astronomy.
