Dr. Galatin received his Bachelors in Arts in Biochemical Sciences, cum laude, from Harvard College. He then participated in the combined M.D.-Ph.D. program at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical School, and conducted research in anticancer drug discovery in pursuit of his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Galatin completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at California Pacific Medical Center, followed by a Hematology-Oncology fellowship at Stanford Hospital & Clinics. During his training, he was co-investigator on multiple clinical trials. Dr. Galatin is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
Prior to his arrival at Southbay Oncology Hematology Partners in July 2013, Dr. Galatin practiced for five years at San Jose Medical Group where he was a principal investigator for breast, colorectal, and pancreatic cancer clinical trials.
Dr. Galatin is married with two children, and when time permits enjoys reading, playing basketball, and practicing musical instruments including keyboards, violin, and alto saxophone. He is fluent in conversational Russian and French.
